Host a Donation Drive At Your Workplace To Support Local Nonprofit Wishlists
Are you looking for a meaningful way to give back to your community? Consider coordinating a donation drive at your workplace! Donation drives are an effective way to support those in need and instill a culture of generosity within your workplace.
Granite United Way hosts multiple donation drives throughout the year that collect newborn essentials for new parents, gently used winter coats for kids, kindergarten readiness essentials for first time students and much more.
Rick Minard, Executive Director of Building Community in NH, reflects on the impact these types of donation drives have had on their organization and the refugee communities they serve.
"Our clients, former refugees from Congo, Afghanistan, Ukraine, Haiti, and elsewhere, were so grateful for the donation drives hosted by Granite United Way. Our Case Managers distributed the toys and coats collected into the hands of people who needed them most. and Building Community in New Hampshire was thrilled to help turn Granite United Way Donor's generosity into happy kids and warm adults."
Why Consider a Donation Drive?
Workplace donation drives are an opportunity for individuals and businesses to make a significant impact in their community. By harnessing the collective power of your workplace, you can provide substantial support to local nonprofits and individuals who need it most.
How to Start a Donation Drive
Starting a donation drive is easy. Begin by identifying a cause that you and your colleagues feel passionate about. It could be anything from food insecurity, supporting children at school or camp, helping new neighbors get settled, or supporting a local shelter. Once you've selected a cause, reach out to Granite United Way by emailing info@graniteuw.org to identify a nonprofit, coordinate your collection drive and delivery of your items.
The Impact of Your Donation Drive
The effect of donation extends beyond those most in need. Coordinating a donation drive at your workplace fosters a culture of generosity, empowers people to contribute to something larger than themselves, and is a rewarding and way to give back to your community.
