Although this holiday usually involves gifting of chocolate and flowers for your significant other… we prefer to express our appreciation for our donors, volunteers, and corporate and community partners across NH and VT.
We love YOU because our partnership has allowed us to…
14. Provide children and families with basic necessities like diapers, winter coats, books, backpacks and back-to-school supplies.
These items were distributed through our community-wide collection drives like the Community Baby Showers, K-Ready Kids, and Coats for Kids Drive to help those most in need.

13. Offer free tax preparation for individuals with low to moderate income.
Our Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program helped 5,089 people prepare their taxes for FREE last year! As a result, they received $6,536,643 back in returns including nearly $1 million from claiming the Earned Income Tax Credit. They also saved more than $1.3 million in filing fees compared to going to a commercial tax preparer. This allowst hem to use their money for emergencies, savings, and taking care of their families.
12. Introduce elementary and middle schoolers to the importance of community service at our Youth Earth Day of Caring in the Central Region!
During this volunteer event, students meet representatives from various local agencies, including the Boys and Girls Club and Fire Departments. They spend part of their day completing projects like sweeping up rooms, washing fire trucks, picking up roadside litter, and cleaning up our parks.

11. Continue to be a resource for the community through New Hampshire’s statewide information and referral service, 211 NH.
NH residents need only to dial 2-1-1 to get connected with a trained Information and Referral specialist who can provide them with the health and human service information they need.
10. Welcome Whole Village Family Resource Center’s newest Director, Jen Hunter.
Whole Village provides resources, Play Groups, Parent Ed classes, Family Fun Nights, free tax prep, and houses 14 agencies that serve the Greater Plymouth area.
9. Work with employers to help create safe and healthy environments.
Through Recovery Friendly Workplace, an initiative of Governor Sununu and administered by Granite United Way we help support employees and their families affected by Substance Use Disorder.
8. Ensure everyone has access to resources necessary to maintain health and safety.
Through to our public health initiatives, South Central Public Health Network, Capital Area Public Health Network, and Carroll County Public Health Network, we promote awareness around substance misuse prevention, suicide prevention, emergency preparedness, chronic disease management, and early childhood and parenting supports.

6. Address the immediate needs associated with homelessness and the lack of affordable housing across the state.
Through our initiative, the Affordable Housing Incentive Program (AHIP), we partner with local landlords to increase affordability within existing housing stock and reduce barriers to participating in assisted housing programs.
5. Invest in the elderly female population across the City of Manchester.
Thanks to our partnership with the Mary Gale Foundation, we help support housing, health and other in-home services and programs for low-income women aged 65 and older.
4. Bring communities together through our annual Day of Caring volunteer events!
Each year our Day of Caring continues to grow. Last year, nearly 1300 volunteers completed more than 130 projects, ranging from landscaping parks, painting playgrounds, visiting our elderly neighbors and so much more.
