Granite United Way Receives Platinum Level Status from GuideStar
Granite United Way has earned the prestigious Platinum Level rating by GuideStar, the largest information service specializing in reporting on U.S. nonprofit companies.
GuideStar is the largest source of nonprofit information, connecting people and organizations with information on more than 1.8 million IRS-recognized nonprofits. GuideStar collects its information from the IRS, directly from nonprofits, and other partners in the nonprofit sector.
“Being recognized as a Platinum Level charity by GuideStar is a tribute to Granite United Way’s commitment to transparency and efficiency,” said Patrick Tufts, President and CEO of Granite United Way. “We are proud of this distinction and are excited to share it with our donors and volunteers.”
The Platinum Level of participation was introduced this spring by GuideStar. To reach the Platinum level, Granite United Way added extensive information to its Nonprofit Profile on GuideStar: basic contact and organizational information; in-depth financial information; qualitative information about goals, strategies, and capabilities; and quantitative information about results and progress toward its mission. By taking the time to provide this information, Granite United Way has demonstrated its commitment to transparency and to giving donors and funders meaningful data to evaluate.
Granite United Way is comprised of six United Ways that have merged together over the course of five years. The organization covers 80% of New Hampshire and Windsor County, Vermont. More than 22,000 donors and volunteers are engaged in efforts to advance the common good across these regions. This year, nearly $14 million in support was delivered to over 350,000 individuals.
