Granite United Way Celebrates 20 Years of Impact Honoring Patrick Tufts
There were cheers and celebration during the 20 Years of Impact event honoring Patrick Tufts held on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at the Manchester Country Club. Patrick will be stepping down from his role of President and CEO of New Hampshire's largest United Way this December.
Supporters, community partners, friends and family were there to recognize Tufts for the tremendous impact he has made leading Granite United Way. His United Way career spans more than 20 years, helping countless individuals and families. One of his most notable achievements was when he came to New Hampshire and brought together 7 local United Ways to form what we now know as Granite United Way.
Speakers during the evening included Joseph Bator, Granite United Way Board Chair, Senator Maggie Hassan, Alex Walker, CMC President and CEO, Sean Owen, CEO of wedu, Dean Christon, Retired Executive Director of NH Housing, Liz Hager, former VP of Granite United Way, Anna Thomas, Director of Public Health and Josselyn Ascencio, a 12th grader at Manchester School of Technology who reflected on the impact The Leader in Me program made in her life.
Patrick shared personal remarks with those in attendance, thanking them for the way the supported both he and Granite United Way. He encouraged people to continue to show that dedication to our community, support nonprofits doing the important work for others. At the close of the evening, he was joined at the podium with Joseph Bator and together they announced Granite United Way's next President and CEO, Nichole Martin Reimer, to a standing ovation and applause.
