Franklin Savings Bank Increases Workplace Campaign Donations by 80% to Support Their Community
Franklin Savings Bank has been a strong corporate partner with Granite United Way for many years. Their employees sit on Granite United Way committees, volunteer at events, and participate in donating to the annual workplace campaign. In 2021, their workplace campaign hit a record high of $20,690, a 100% increase in employee participation, and an 80% increase in total Campaign pledges from 2020.
When asked why they believe so many employees chose to give this year, Renee Baldini, Executive Assistant at Franklin Savings Bank, explained that many of their employees want to do as much as they can to help their communities.
“Our banks saw the struggles our communities faced before and during the pandemic,” said Baldini. “Giving a small portion of their paycheck each pay period makes it an easy way to make a difference.”
Baldini also believes that a reason for their successful campaign was the Granite United Way workplace campaign kickoff event. This was the first kickoff event in a few years due to the COVID-19 pandemic and was held at three of their bank locations. During this in-person celebration, employees met with members of Granite United Way and other nonprofit agencies in their community. They learned why giving is important and the issues that their donations help to solve.
“The kickoff event opened the eyes of a lot of our employees,” said Baldini. “Being able to meet the nonprofit agencies in person, learn about what they do, and how Granite United Way supports that work made the decision to give easy.”
Franklin Savings Bank also encourages their employees to give in other ways. These efforts include holding donation drives in their offices, participating in holiday giving programs, and volunteering in their community. Franklin Savings Bank does its part in helping employees make a difference by offering volunteer time off and a workplace campaign company match each year.
“Franklin Savings Bank continues to offer a company match because we all see the donations making an impact,” said Ron Magoon, President, and CEO at Franklin Savings Bank. “It’s important to our company to support our employees, our neighbors, and the communities that we live in.”
Magoon was first introduced to Granite United Way almost 34 years ago when he started working for Franklin Savings Bank. Since then, he has been giving through the workplace campaign and increases his pledge amount each year.
“For as long as I can, I will always choose to give back to my community,” said Magoon. “I have been very successful in my career, and I feel that it is my responsibility to give back to those that have not been given the opportunities that I have. Along with that is continuing to encourage others to give.”
