“Our Board of Directors is honored to continue the mission of the Mary Gale Foundation by the recent grants awarded to nonprofits who help elderly women in the Greater Manchester area,” said Alison Perrella, Board Chair of the Mary Gale Foundation. “Mary Gale’s generosity and foresight have helped hundreds of women in need over many years and the recent awards will allow that work to continue.”
Established in 1876, the Mary Gale Foundation remains committed to assisting elderly women in need. The foundation’s mission is to provide housing and in-home services—including transportation, deliveries, in-home nursing care, and home visits—to women aged 65 and older in the Greater Manchester area. Financial need is determined based on national or state poverty guidelines or as assessed by the foundation’s Board.
In 2023, the Mary Gale Foundation partnered with Granite United Way to enhance its grantmaking efforts. This three-year collaboration has streamlined the application process for nonprofit partners while strengthening community impact.
