Funding supports prevention, treatment, recovery, harm reduction, and community capacity building.
Granite United Way announced the results of the second Opioid Abatement Community Grant Program (OACGP) responsive grant cycle, awarding $651,600 to 45 organizations statewide. The funded projects span all counties and priority domains, supporting a wide range of evidence-informed and community-driven initiatives designed to address the opioid crisis.
The selected proposals demonstrated strong alignment with OACGP’s strategic priorities, encompassing the full continuum of care including prevention, treatment, harm reduction, recovery, and community capacity building. The grants will strengthen critical services and introduce innovative approaches statewide, reinforcing the program’s commitment to equitable geographic distribution and cross-sector collaboration.
The second grant cycle drew significant interest, with 68 applications submitted from organizations addressing the complex and evolving impacts of opioid use disorder across New Hampshire. Projects funded through this round include initiatives focused on expanding access to recovery supports, strengthening family-centered prevention strategies, enhancing community outreach and education, and improving workforce capacity to respond to opioid-related emergencies.
Granite United Way will continue to provide technical assistance and informational sessions to support organizations in submitting strong, compliant proposals in future funding cycles, reinforcing the program’s commitment to accountability and measurable community impact.
Funding for the OACGP comes from national opioid settlement agreements and is dedicated to supporting community healing, recovery, and prevention across New Hampshire. Granite United Way is administering the program on behalf of the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services and the Opioid Abatement Advisory Commission.
