Only United Way in New England with two top honors
Granite United Way has earned the prestigious Gold Level rating by GuideStar, the largest information service specializing in reporting on U.S. nonprofit companies and has also been rated a 4-Star Charity by Charity Navigator, America’s largest independent charity evaluator.
Granite United Way is the only United Way in New England to hold both recognitions – Gold Level by GuideStar and 4-Star Charity by Charity Navigator.
“Being recognized as a Gold Level charity by GuideStar and as a 4-Star Charity by Charity Navigator sets us apart and further solidifies our position as one of the most trusted non profit organizations in the country,” said Patrick Tufts, President and CEO of Granite United Way. “We are proud of this distinction and are excited to share it with our donors and volunteers.”
Granite United Way is comprised of six United Ways that have merged together over the course of five years. The organization covers 80% of New Hampshire and Windsor County, Vermont. More than 22,000 donors and volunteers are engaged in efforts to advance the common good across these regions. Last year, more than $13 million in support was delivered to over 300,000 individuals.
“Five years ago when several United Ways decided to merge together these were the results we hoped for,” said K. Mark Primeau, Chair of Granite United Way’s Board of Directors. “We knew that working together and aligning our resources were going to make us stronger, and in turn, our community stronger. Recognition from independent groups like GuideStar and Charity Navigator are an important way we continue to demonstrate to our supporters that Granite United Way’s commitment to transparency and efficiency translate into a solid investment in our community.
