North Country Resident Offers $10,000 Challenge Match
Inspired by the needs of the North Country community, a local resident and business owner hopes to develop that inspiration in others. During the 2014 United Way campaign in the North Country, the donor, who wishes to remain anonymous, has offered a $10,000 Challenge Match to increase giving to a community they care deeply about.
This means that during the annual United Way campaign in that region, every new dollar or increased gift will be matched up to $10,000.
"This is a remarkable opportunity for our supporters in the North Country to help leverage this generous gift," said Bill Bedor, Board Member and North Country Campaign Chair for Granite United Way. "For every new dollar we raise in this region, and for every dollar a current supporter increases their gift we’ll have the opportunity to double that impact. This will offer us the opportunity to bring even more support to the initiatives and programs that make a difference here."
Granite United Way has mirrored this opportunity in two of its other regions, Merrimack County and Upper Valley.
"We hope the community will join us in leveraging this generous offer," said Scoop Welch, Director of Major Gifts for Granite United Way. "Our team of local Campaign and Community Impact volunteers are energized by this offer. Together we can turn $1 into $2!"
