Joint Message from Granite United Way and United Way of Massachusetts Bay and Merrimack Valley

The Boards of Directors of Granite United Way and United Way of Massachusetts Bay and Merrimack Valley and the United Way of the Greater Seacoast Regional Advisory Board today announced they are mutually exploring a natural realignment, based on state lines, of the service area of United Way of the Greater Seacoast to achieve greater community impact in the state of New Hampshire.  

Currently, the United Way of the Greater Seacoast service area is under the umbrella of the United Way of Massachusetts Bay and Merrimack Valley.

When we consider partnerships or collaborations with other United Way organizations, our number one goal is to identify ways to not only help more people but to also help in the most efficient and effective ways possible, such as leveraging State and Federal funding, securing corporate and foundation resources, and advocating for statewide policies to achieve change at a greater scale.

Through this exploration of the realignment of the Greater Seacoast area with Granite United Way, we hope to find ways to advance the impact on the lives of people living in the Greater Seacoast and increase engagement opportunities for New Hampshire-based companies.

The United Way of the Greater Seacoast is and has been a trusted, valued, and high-quality partner to its residents, its partner agencies, its corporate partners, its donors, and volunteers; and it will continue to be so throughout this process and beyond.      

As part of this exploration, we are committed to engaging community leaders in each region.  Our organizations will be working closely together during this exploration as we perform the necessary due diligence.  Any decisions will be made by the Boards of UWMBMV and Granite United Way in conjunction with local input from the Greater Seacoast area and its Regional Advisory Board.  Our goal is to complete this exploration with an ultimate decision as to realignment during 2021.
