Hager $20,000 Leadership Challenge Match Met
Granite United Way is grateful to our friends, Liz and Dennis Hager, who renewed their $20,000 Leadership Challenge Match in 2019 for the second year in a row!
Liz and Dennis Hager have personally been members of the Alexis de Tocqueville Society, Loyal Contributors, and Legacy Society members of United Way for more than 20 years. The Hagers hoped to use this Challenge Match to inspire others to contribute to Granite United Way as well as generate new and increased Leadership gifts (donations of $1,000 or more annually) from donors within the workplace setting.
Last year, this Challenge Match covered workplace campaigns within our Central and Merrimack County regions. The results were so successful that the Hagers expanded the Match to also cover our Northern regions this year.
"The needs that are met by United Way campaigns are always increasing. In order to meet those needs, our pledges must also increase. We are offering this Challenge Match to help people in thinking about what leadership means, how important it is and the difference an increased gift can make," said the Hagers.
Granite United Way is thrilled to report that we have completed the Hager Challenge Match and employees at Bank of New Hampshire in the Central Region have amongst the top participation rates for the second year in a row, with twelve new or increased leadership donations!
The two-year Hager Challenge Match resulted in 81 new or increased donors and over $136,000 was raised from donors who qualified for the Match.
