Granite United Way Honors Suzanne Stofflet
Granite United Way leadership honored Suzanne Stofflet, of Norwich, Vermont, for her work with the organization over the past five years. Stofflet has led Granite United Way’s Upper Valley region and will be retiring at the end of December.
In front of her colleagues at the organization’s annual event, President and CEO Patrick Tufts, along with Rob Schultz, Area Director for the Upper Valley region, presented Stofflet with a plaque along with a gift to Simon Pearce. Following the presentation, Stofflet entertained her colleagues with a hilarious poem “These are a few of my favorite things…” about her time at Granite United Way.
“When she departs from Granite United Way this month, Suzanne will be leaving a significant legacy in the Upper Valley. She has been a tremendous asset to our organization; navigating through our initial merger years, working tirelessly to establish a strong Community Impact Committee comprised of local volunteers, to her efforts in bringing the Working Bridges to this region,” said Patrick Tufts, President and CEO of Granite United Way. “She has left a positive imprint on this community and we are proud to have worked with her to bring opportunities to the local area.”
Stofflet has a long career in nonprofit leadership, including serving as President of the Samara Foundation of Vermont and working as Foundation Officer for the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation. In her role at Granite United Way she worked with local volunteers to establish the Working Bridges program, which is currently taking place in several workplaces. She also helped to bring a national Financial Coach to the region for a three year timeframe by submitting a collaborative application with four local nonprofits.
“During her time with Granite United Way, Suzanne has been a champion of nonprofits in the Upper Valley. As a Board Member I have been continually impressed with the way she would convene the right partners to the table to create opportunities for those living in our community,” said Julia Griffin, Hanover Town Manager and Board Member of Granite United Way. “It’s been a pleasure to work with someone so dedicated to our community.”
Rob Schultz, Area Director for Granite United Way and former Executive Director of COVER, agrees.
“I have had the privilege of working directly with Suzanne, especially following Tropical Storm Irene which devastated parts of the Upper Valley. Suzanne was instrumental in bringing the right people to the table to solve many of the immediate issues families were facing,” said Rob Schultz, Area Director for the Upper Valley. “Her contributions to this community will be felt for generations to come.”
