#GivingTuesday Will Bring Books to Children Across Granite United Way Footprint
UPDATE: Listen to Kristin Martin from Granite United Way and David Johnson from United Way of the Greater Seacoast on 98.7 The Bay talking #GivingTuesday here.
When the nationally recognized #GivingTuesday celebrates its fifth year on Tuesday, November 29, 2016, Granite United Way will be among the thousands of charities across the nation that help raise awareness to this giving season kick off. #GivingTuesday was created to celebrate generosity during the holiday season, following two of the largest shopping days of the year (Black Friday and Cyber Monday.)
#GivingTuesday is primarily a mobile experience, using social media to spread the word, attract new donors to the organization and fundraise for a particular cause (in our case - books for kids!) Granite United Way is recruiting social media ambassadors to help spread the message in the weeks leading up to November 29, 2016.
“Granite United Way is proud to be part of the #GivingTuesday movement and this year we are raising awareness around the importance of reading by theming our efforts #NewYearNewChapter,” said Patrick Tufts, President and CEO of Granite United Way. “Our team is utilizing a text-to-give option during #GivingTuesday that will help bring books to children across the footprint.”
Granite United Way invites you to join our #GivingTuesday movement. Granite United Way’s theme is #NewYearNewChapter and dollars raised will be used to purchase and distribute books to children throughout the organization’s footprint, which supports our other efforts to promote literacy and reading!
