Granite United Way provides support to youth and their families

The COVID-19 Pandemic has had a tremendous impact on education in our communities. The transition to remote learning, hybrid schedules, new rules and regulations have placed incredible stress upon educators, students, and their families. Granite United Way has been there to provide support during this difficult time in many ways:

  • Enrolled an additional 2,000 students in Reading Plus®, an online literacy program, to support the transition to remote learning.
  • Provided more than 1,300 hours of mental health training for teachers and youth support staff.
  • Raised $200K to increase supports for middle school youth during COVID-19 through the Youth Enrichment Partnership.
  • Provided safe and supportive remote learning HUBS for middle and high school students to almost 100 students

"Because of our involvement with YEP (Youth Enrichment Program) pre-covid our middle school youth programming had expanded greatly which has allowed us to continue to serve as many grades 6-8 youth as possible during covid.  We will come out of this stronger than ever thanks in large part to YEP and GUW.” -Boys and Girls Club
